Today Asus has decided to make official Asus Eee PC 1001PQD, releasing its product page with complete specifications and the very first pictures of the netbook. It is a model dedicated to teenagers and children, with special arrangements for internet safety (parents control).
Asus Eee PC 1001PQD has an Intel Atom N455 processor with 1-2GB of RAM and 250GB hard drive. Display 10.1-inch LED backlight WXGA screen (1024×600) in the upper frame shows a 0.3 megapixel webcam. The equipment is completed by an 802.11n WiFi module, VGA, HDMI, 2 USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, audio jacks and card reader 3in1. It weighs 1.1kg (3 cell battery) or 1.27 (6-cell battery) and dimensions of 262mm (W) x 178mm (D) x 25.9 ~ 36.5mm (H), Asus Eee PC has 1001PQD operating system Windows 7 Starter Edition.
Asus has Seashell operability of 8 hours with 6 cell battery and 4 hours with 3 cell battery lithium ion. It will be available in the particular sport and yellow and purple colors, but the user can customize their own netbook with colored stickers (blue, black and red) to apply to the middle band on the display lid. Like all the latest Eee PC, Eee PC also has 1001PQD ASUS Super Hybrid Engine, which can modulate the frequency of the processor for better energy efficiency.
